King Charles should be proud to be British and must NEVER apologise for our history and culture, says Patrick Christys

My worst fears are coming true.

King Charles is clearly getting absolutely terrible advice from some kind of woke, virtue-signalling moron and, unless it changes soon, the future of the Monarchy is at risk.

In September I was in the GB News office when the tip-offs started coming in on my mobile phone: ‘The Queen is dead.’

A few hours later I stood at the news desk, Nigel Farage to my right, Calvin Robinson on my left, as broadcasting royalty Alastair Stewart delivered the tragic news to the nation that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away.

Tears rolled down my cheeks primarily out of sorrow for the loss of the world’s greatest ever Monarch, but also because I was genuinely fearful of what was to come next.

Now I think my worst fears are coming true.

Somebody behind the scenes is telling King Charles to appeal to, and try to appease, the woke brigade and that, ladies and gentlemen, is a stark example of Britain in decline.

The obvious first example of this was when Marlene Headley, aka Ngozi Fulani, turned up to the palace wearing some kind of African attire and sparked a ridiculous race row which damaged the Royal Family and garnered publicity for her charity Sistah Space.

Instead of telling her where to go, the Palace went against their own long-established protocol: Never complain, never explain.

They apologised unreservedly, essentially sacked Lady Susan Hussey, a woman who amassed decades of selfless service to our nation and dear late Queen. For context, Lady Susan has previously met hundreds of people of all colours, creeds and religious persuasions without any incident whatsoever, but King Charles prioritised the feelings and the testimony of a woman who uses an African name as a costume and, with that, Lady Susan was thrown under the big diversity bus.

In the last week, King Charles has agreed to fully cooperate with an investigation into the Monarchy’s links to the slave trade which, as far as I can tell, was sparked by a letter dating back to 1689 when King William III (who was Dutch) received shares in a company involved in the slave trade.

These are two examples of King Charles being advised to appease the race lobby. And how has it gone? Well, Marlene Headley went back on national television saying an apology wasn’t good enough. And Grenada and other countries are asking for financial reparations - from the British taxpayer (that's hard-pressed you and me, folks!) - for the slave trade.

This is my point: Appeasement doesn’t work. It will never be enough. They will always want more.

Another good example is the eco-warriors. King Charles and Prince William rocked up at Cop26 in Scotland giving their support for net zero and urgent climate action. Britain is a world leader in tackling climate change. But no, this wasn’t enough for Greta Thunberg’s tribe of crusty weirdos and Just Stop Oil.

I am convinced, by the way, that groups like Just Stop Oil are preying on mentally vulnerable young people. I interviewed an activist called Eddie who doesn’t want to have children or get a proper job because he doesn’t think it’s fair to bring kids into a hopeless world. Although having met Eddie, I couldn’t help but wonder whether or not the decision to not have any children might not be entirely his.

Anyway, again, King Charles can give as much public support as he likes for the climate lobby but they will just see that as a sign that they can push for even more.

And now King Charles’ advisors have urged him to have a multi-faith coronation. What’s that all about? Does the Coronation of our King who, may I remind everybody, is the head of the Church of England, have to be used as another opportunity to virtue signal about diversity?

Yet again, this won’t be greeted with glee by multi-faith groups. They will continue to regard Charles as a stuffy, old, gammon-coloured, rich, closet racist posho. It’s pointless.

Who on earth is advising him to do this?

The cretinous advisor may as well say: ‘Your majesty, I’ve got an idea for you. It’s something that will annoy your supporters and embolden your detractors.’

And then there’s the advice he’s getting on handling Harry and Meghan. How many olive branches has King Charles offered them? Whinge and Ginge could have started an olive plantation by now and stuck a TV show about it on Amazon Prime as a miserable lefty version of Clarkson’s Farm.

The advice should be this: Tell them to piss off, publicly. Say: ‘Piss off Harry and when Meghan leaves you and takes you to the cleaners in a divorce court you can apologise to me and I’ll welcome you back into the fold.’

His popularity ratings would surge.

Our country needs a King. A King that’s proud to be British, that’s not apologetic about our history, about our own culture. A King who stands up for British values. A King who isn’t put on the back foot by race baiters, eco-warriors and virtue-signalling lefties.

King Charles, if you go woke, the Monarchy will go broke. Sack the softies who are giving you bad advice, and be a King that the British people can be proud of.
